The Colorado House of Representatives last week approved a bill that sets a strict limit and unreasonable of 5 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood allowed for drivers.

Around noon today the Colorado House of Representatives approved a bill that would set a strict and unreasonable limit of 5 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood allowed for drivers. For months The Centennial State has debated over whether or not to make a law that would act as a DUI law for marijuana.

All hope is not lost, however. Later this evening the state Senate will vote on this bill. If they do not approve the bill, it will not go into effect. Even if the Senate does approve it, Governor John Hickenlooper will then also have to approve the bill.

This bill raises immediate concern among the medical marijuana community. Unlike alcohol, marijuana users often build a very strong tolerance to cannabis. This means that someone who is barely affected from their last session of smoking, could be arrested if their blood content is over the 5 nanograms. In essence, people who are not even high could be arrested for driving under the influence of cannabis.

In Spain, and specially in Delicious Seeds, we pursue other Cannabis management model, where we can grow and use freely, and if the authorities believe they establish a reasonable limit for driving, which is considered by serious studies and conclusive, as has been done with alcohol.
